INVESTIGATION CONTINUES: Over 100 neglected animals found on county farm, 37 were dead

HANCOCK COUNTY — More details in a horrific case of farm animal neglect have been released by county officials this week. Over 100 farm animals living in terrible conditions on a piece of land in the county were subject to neglect and abuse, causing over three dozen of the animals to die, officials said.

County sets plan for juvenile detention

HANCOCK COUNTY – The county has started its first year in several without a guaranteed place to detain children accused of crimes.

New deputies sworn-in

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department officially welcomed several new deputies. Pictured here are (left to right) Andrew Tillman, Kyle Frank, Josh Cochard and Ben Stevens. Frank and Cochard will start FTO training on patrol at the beginning of March. Tillman and Stevens will spend some time working in the county jail before their FTO training begins in a few months.
