Homecoming includes gospel trio

Jeff Dixon of Greenfield took this photo several months ago of the USS Carl Vinson returning from a five-month deployment in San Diego. Two cruise ships came in behind it, with a tub tender beside it. His son, William Dixon, serves on the ship and it was his first deployment. The Greenfield-Central High School and eighth grade marching bands and guard performed “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Sept. 13 homecoming game while a skydiver landed with an American flag.
