Firefighters with Greenfield Fire Territory and Sugar Creek Township participated in a five-day trench rescue collapse training in September. The training allowed local firefighters to become certified technicians in trench collapses. Greenfield Utilities and Amerestore also assisted with the training. Sue Goff is pictured at a new table at the Hancock County Food Pantry named in honor of her and her late husband, Jack. Jack and Sue Goff were the driving force of the pantry for almost 30 years and the table serves as a remembrance of Jack, who passed away in 2021, and in honor of Sue. The ash table was made by Dean Felker and engraved by Quality Hardwoods and Sawmill of Knightstown. Local residents decorated downtown Greenfield’s Living Alley late last month during Chalkfest, an annual event hosted by Hancock County Arts. First-place winners in the jungle-themed event were Greenfield Central Art Club, team category; Carl Leck, adult; Paige Ferrell, grades 9-12; and Brooklyn Tompkins, ages 4-8.
