The Wilkinson and Knightstown Wayne Township fire departments recently rescued dogs that were trapped in a vehicle. Around 4 a.m. Aug. 29, the crews responded to a crash on I-70; a minivan was on its roof directly under the overpass on CR 1050E. The people in the accident were out with no injuries, but they were transporting dogs in cages from New York to Colorado. The dogs had to be extricated from the van; neither dog suffered injuries “and I think we made some new friends,” the Wilkinson Volunteer Fire Department social media page announced.
