HANCOCK COUNTY — When the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament begins play next week, all four Hancock County schools will open sectional play against their most recent sectional opponent.

MARTINSVILLE — Greenfield-Central’s boys basketball team tied the school record for victories in a single season — set last year — and extended their record winning streak to 21 games with a 80-60 victory over Martinsville at John R. Wooden Gymnasium Saturday.

EVANSVILLE — New Palestine sophomore Gunner Butt placed in the IHSAA Boys Wrestling State Finals for the second straight year and three other Hancock County wrestlers finished on the podium Saturday night at the Ford Center.

NEW PALESTINE — Saturday’s IHSAA Boys Swimming Sectional at New Palestine was the culmination of a season filled with hard work and growth for Hancock County schools.

EVANSVILLE — Nine Hancock County wrestlers made the trip to Evansville with the hopes of heading home as an IHSAA Boys Wrestling state champion.
