Local kids to portray “The True Story of Hey Diddle Diddle”

GREENFIELD – Tickets are available now for the KidsPlay Inc. production of “The True Story of Hey Diddle Diddle.”

The family-friendly production features 26 young actors in a full-length comedy. It portrays seven imaginative stories telling what might be the story behind the nursery rhyme, like why a cow could leap over the moon or why the dish ran away with the spoon.

Show dates are 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 7 p.m. Nov. 16 and 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. Presale tickets online are $6 at crazylakeacting.com. Tickets are also available at Hometown Comics for $5; the store is located at 1040 N. State St., Greenfield. Tickets the day of the performance are $7.

Local artist to share work

GREENFIELD – Hear from artist Chris Sickels and see the unveiling of the newest addition of his art installation at the Hancock County Public Library next month.

Sickels is a Greenfield-based illustrator who publishes his work under the name Red Nose Studio. He’ll explain how he sculpts 3-D figures and elaborate scenes from clay, wood, wire, paper, paint and an eclectic collection of objects. Sickels will also unveil an addition to the library’s “Over, Under and Beyond” art installation.

Registration is open now for the event scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the central library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Visit hcplibrary.org to register.

Breakfast with Santa, downtown events planned

GREENFIELD – Tickets are available now for the Ho Ho Ho Holiday Breakfast Dec. 7, hosted by Greenfield Main street.

The annual tradition takes place Dec. 7 at Bradley Hall Event Center in downtown Greenfield. Three time slots are available and tickets are $20 to have a buffet meal with Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus and enjoy holiday arts and crafts. Visit facebook.com/GreenfieldMainStreet for the link for tickets.

The organization also recently announced “Skating on Main”— ice skating on the downtown courthouse plaza from Dec. 6 to Jan. 1. The Boho Holiday Artisan Market is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at Bradley Hall.
