GREENFIELD, IN
Jean Caryl (Crisman) Willis, 93, Greenfield, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. Jean
was born on August 5, 1931 in Valparaiso, IN to Hale and Carolyn (Lembke) Crisman. She is a
1949 graduate of Valparaiso High School. On August 17, 1952, she married the love of her life
David L Willis.
Jean was an involved wife to David and an active mother to their four children. When not
supporting the activities of her children, Jean was active with Delta Theta Tau Sorority, charter
member of Lambda Iota Chapter, Meals on Wheels, Kiwanis Club, and extremely active in
Bradley United Methodist Church: the women’s group, their book club, choir and their bell choir.
Jean also educated, promoted and became an activist for Donate Life Indiana for over 20 years,
as she herself was a recipient of a donated liver.
Jean is survived by her loving children: Charles (Emma) Willis of New Castle, IN, Mary (Greg)
Clark of La Crosse, WI, Deby Low of Greenfield, IN and Chris (Jen) Willis of Perrysburg, OH; 16
grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and her 102 year old sister, Martha Ashton of Las Vegas,
NV.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband David of 66 years; son in-law, Mike
Low; sisters, Eleanor Seymour and Margaret Makovsky; and brother, Everett.
Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the Willis Family. At this time,
there will be no visitation nor service. A private graveside service and a public Celebration of
Life will take place in the summer. Memorial contributions may be made to Bradley United
