We announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Charlton on October 23, 2024 of Indianapolis/New Palestine, IN at the age of 89, a cherished sister, ex-wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Born to Ballard and Roxy Justice in Pikeville Kentucky. Ruth grew up surrounded by the love of God, Jesus and her family. Building the foundation that would guide her throughout her life.
Ruth devoted 44 years to Von Duprin in Indianapolis, IN retiring in 1994. Her dedication, resilience, and gentle spirit touched everyone she worked with. This left a mark on the hearts of her coworkers and friends.
Family was Ruth’s greatest pride and joy. She comes from a large family of 14 siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her two: children, Kathy Charlton-Spencer, Marty Charlton, her beloved five: grandchildren: Cheyenne, Derrick, Bradley, Elaina, Amanda, her Seven: great-grandchildren: Hannah, Nathan, Jordan, Alex, Avery, Lincoln and Leland. Ruth’s love, guidance, kindness and strength will forever live on in each of them, as she touched each life with grace and devotion.
Ruth is proceeded by her ex husband Howard Charlton, and her two children Gary Charlton and Teresa Charlton.
Ruth a woman of profound faith, walked closely with God throughout her life. Her example of unwavering spirituality was a source of comfort and strength, radiating peace and inspiring all who knew her. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7.
Ruth’s gentle presence and love will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
A service to honor Ruth’s life was held on October 28, 2024 in Greenfield.
Burial will take place on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 2:30pm ” time is subject to change” in Pikeville, Kentucky at Annie E. Young Cementary, 4964 Chloe Rd, Pikeville, KY 41501
