German Dinner coming to Zion

NEW PALESTINE — Zion Lutheran Church’s 48th annual German dinner is set for 4-7 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 26) at the church, 6513 W. CR 300S.

The traditional German dinner includes sauerbraten, pork and kraut, brats, ham, potato pancakes, green beans, potato salad, applesauce and desserts.

Bible read-aloud welcomes readers

CUMBERLAND — The monthly community Bible read-aloud series continues at Heather Hills Baptist Church with the book of Judges (chapters 1-11). The book covers the ancient Israelites’ history during a series of leaders, the judges.

Readings will take place at noon Monday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Past Bible read-alouds have typically lasted about an hour.

Church leaders say anyone is welcome to come join in the reading, or simply listen. The church is located at 1421 N. German Church Road, Indianapolis.

Blood drives coming up

Versiti Blood Center of Indiana will conduct blood drives at several churches:

-Greenfield Faith Church, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 26) at 328 N. Swope St., Greenfield

-St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, noon-5 p.m. Sunday at 523 S. Merrill St., Fortville

St. Thomas to serve chicken, noodles

FORTVILLE — The Chicken & Noodle Dinner is from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. It will take place in the Parish Activity Center of the church, 523 S. Merrill St.

Cost is $11 per adult meal; other prices are available.

A silent auction featuring theme baskets will also take place during the meal.

St. John to offer bazaar

CUMBERLAND — St. John United Church of Christ will have a holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the church, 11910 E. Prospect St., Indianapolis.

It will feature homemade craft items, baked goods, outside vendors and lunch.

Gospel group to sing Nov. 3

GREENFIELD — Gospel Servants Quartet will be in concert during the 9:30 a.m. service Nov. 3 at Greenfield Faith Church, 328 N. Swope St.

Joyous conference ministers to women

GREENFIELD — The Joyous conference for women is set for Nov. 8-9 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 1202 E. Fifth St.

Janelle Romine of Christ the King Apostolic Church in O’Fallon, Illinois, is keynote speaker. She will speak in sessions at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and noon Nov. 9.

Sarah McCurry of Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis will speak about “Joy in Serving” during a breakout session at 10 a.m. Nov. 9.
