Lawmakers seeking legislative interns

INDIANAPOLIS — Applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open, according to area lawmakers.

The Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full time, Monday through Friday.

Internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns get free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university. Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy and communications.

Indiana House Republican intern recruiters will be available to talk with area students on Oct. 1 at Butler University during the Fall All Majors Career and Internship Fair. Visit butler.edu/internships-careers/ to register for the event.

EH alumni award nominations open

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Nominations are open for the 2025 Eastern Hancock High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

The award was founded to recognize and celebrate the positive accomplishments and contributions of Eastern Hancock High School alumni. Graduates of Eastern Hancock as well as Charlottesville, Westland, and Wilkinson High Schools are all eligible for consideration.

The Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have, through their performance, conduct, and achievement, brought credit and honor to themselves and EHHS. Their public example will hopefully serve to inspire future graduates to perform and serve in the same spirit.

Honorees will be recognized for outstanding achievement in their chosen field, leadership, the arts, and volunteer/community service. Nominees with outstanding records of achievement deserving of special recognition are eligible.
