MCCORDSVILLE
Dana C. Doud, 85, of McCordsville, IN passed away peacefully on Monday October 14, 2024, at Independence Village of Fishers, South. She was born June 4, 1939, in Indianapolis, IN to the late William and Rhuhama (Hunt) Smith. Dana was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, IN.
Dana worked for Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation where she retired as a bus driver of more than 35 years. Dana took great joy in driving for the special needs children whom she cared for deeply. Following her retirement in 2014, Dana focused her attention on doing what she loved most, traveling with friends and spending time with her family. Dana was a godly woman who found great comfort relying on her faith and love for the Lord.
Dana was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Doud, her mother and father, William and Rhuhama Smith and brother, Stephen Smith. She is survived by her children, Andrea Sue Sparks of Mountain Home, AR; Karen Elaine Doud of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Stephen Ray (Shari) Doud of Fortville, Erika Lynn (Shane) Fithian of McCordsville; grandchildren, Amber (Matt), Rachel, Drake, Garrett, Jadan and Drew, great grandchildren Pruett and Giles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home &Cremation Services, Fortville. A celebration of Dana’s life will occur immediately thereafter. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
