HANCOCK COUNTY — An Indianapolis man is sitting in the county jail under a $200,000 cash bond after an intoxicated, dangerous drive through the county. Officials say he was also dealing drugs found in the vehicle.

Ingram’s case was opened in Hancock County Circuit Court late Friday afternoon where Judge Scott Sirk set a $200,000 cash bond and appointed indigent council. Court records show Ingram is due back in court in early November.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Oct. 3 an official with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department went to check out a report of a suspicious vehicle. Dispatch advised a caller reported there was a black Chevy Suburban stopped in the roadway in front of the house and the caller had attempted to get the operator’s attention but did not get a response.

The deputy arrived westbound on CR 100N and according to a probable cause located the vehicle heading eastbound. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle after observing it almost cause an accident and several other road violations, the report stated.

A chase started and officials used stop sticks just west of the intersection of CR 200W and CR 100N, and then had to use them again on CR 150W, the report stated.

Officials noted in the report the vehicle had no tires, was rolling on rims and the operator started to lose control over the vehicle and the car hit a curve on the south-side of the roadway causing the car to fishtail out of control and run into a field on the south-side of the roadway.

Officials noted in the report the driver was clearly intoxicated as he was ordered out of the vehicle and that officials found a large amount of cash on him as well as narcotics. Ingram told officials he had used Fentanyl earlier so officials sent him to the hospital.

The report indicated officials found a bag containing heroin and cocaine, as well as pills during a search of the vehicle and law enforcement wrote that narcotics were in plain sight. Officials also noted the vehicle Ingram was driving was reported stolen. Officials note Ingram is on federal probation.
