Downtown history tour coming up

GREENFIELD – Take a free guided walking tour of historic downtown Greenfield In a “Now and Then” event hosted by Greenfield Historic Landmarks.

The event is at 2 p.m. Oct. 20 starting at the Hancock County Courthouse. The tour will allow participants to compare what the Hancock County Courthouse Square Historic District looks like now, compared to “then” photos from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The tour will take 60 to 90 minutes and will be about 10 blocks, or one mile, in length. Meet at the Courthouse Plaza Gazebo located on the southwest corner of the Courthouse Square.

Ponies, pumpkins event coming up

GREENFIELD – Meet mini horses in a fall event at a local nonprofit farm.

Thanksgiving run returning to Greenfield

GREENFIELD – The Turkey Day 5K returns to downtown Greenfield on Thanksgiving Day, and registration is open now.

The event is 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 28 starting off at Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N. East Main St., Greenfield. Cost for the 5K is $30 at an early launch rate, or $20 for one mile. Prices increase after Sept. 5. Participants receive a shirt and medal. Proceeds benefit Hancock Hope House, Greenfield Main street and Greenfield Parks. Bourbon event to benefit Meals on Wheels

GREENFIELD – A benefit event featuring bourbon, spirits and wine tasting will benefit Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.

Boots & Bourbon is scheduled for Oct. 21 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. A VIP pass for $75 offers special tastings with early entry. General admission at $45 includes live music, hors d’oeuvres, cigar pairings, auctions and more. There is also a safe driver pass at $15.

Shrine group to host meal, meeting

GREENFIELD – The next meeting of the Hancock County Shrine Club will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct 22 at the Fraternal Order of Police, 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield.
