Children’s programs coming to libraries

GREENFIELD – Programs for children are coming up in October at local libraries.

“Figaro! The Bunny of Seville” is an all-ages show presented by the Indianapolis Orchestra. Bhe bite-sized version of Rossini’s famous “The Barber of Seville” will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield; and 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the HCPL in New Palestine.

Other activities in greenfield include Monster Bash for grades 2-5 is Oct. 16; a Minecraft game night Oct. 21; and a Mad Scientists program for ages 5-10 Oct. 24.

At the HCPL in New Pal, a Gouls and Ghosts Dance Party is from 5-7 pm. Oct. 3; Pals and PJs for ages 3-7 is Oct. 9; Rhythm & Hues is Oct. 10; and Science Squad, Oct. 15.

The Vernon Township Public Library in Fortville will host a weaving program for children Oct. 9; Play & Learn Storytimes every Wednesday; Little Learners Oct. 28; and Homeschool Nature club Oct. 25. Visit vtpl.lib.in.us for more.

Bentley’s Buddies and Friends reading therapy dogs will be at the VTPL Oct. 19; and at both branches of the HCPL Oct. 20.

Teen events available at libraries

GREENFIELD – Teens can enjoy Pizza Month Celebration at a special event Oct. 3 at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield. Drop in to celebrate pizza with crafts, games and food. Register at hcplibrary.org.

In New Palestine, other events for teens and “tweens” coming up at local libraries include the Ghouls and Ghosts Dance party Oct. 3 at the Suar Creek branch of the HCPL. Impromptu Teens is Oct. 10 and Oct. 24, a bi-weekly after-school hangout with board games, switch games, anime and more. Teen Storymakers is coming up at 1 p.m. Oct. 22 for ages 12-17. EH PTO announces Tuttles fundraiser

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Eastern Hancock Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization has announced fundraiser nights at Tuttle Orchards.

Tickets must be purchased online for families to enjoy Tuttle’s Farmyard at $9 per person from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3. Of that price, $3 goes back to the PTO. Activities include the corn maze, Tractor Town, wagon ride and more. Visit facebook.com/EasternHancockPTO for details.
