INDIANAPOLIS — State Sen. Michael Crider, R-Greenfield, was recently honored with the 2024 Friend of Local Government Award from the Indiana County Commissioners nonprofit organization

This award recognizes leaders who serve as a trusted partner to local governments and reflects deep appreciation for ongoing support and collaboration with the association, according to a press release.

Crider received this leadership award for his dedication to addressing critical issues that impact communities across Indiana.

Crider, who serves as the chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Transportation Committee, has been an advocate for local governments, especially on matters related to public and mental health. His willingness to listen and work closely with county commissioners on various issues has made him a valued partner in the pursuit of shared goals, according to the ICC, such as securing funding for local roads and bridges.
