Gibson has final start of season

In his final start of the season, Greenfield’s Kyle Gibson went four innings and did not get the decision in the St. Louis Cardinals 10-8 loss at Colorado Thursday.

The 36-year old right-hander, in his first season with the Cardinals — and 12th in the majors —went 8-8 with a 4.24 earned run average. In 30 starts, he struck out 151 in 169 2/3 innings.

In his four innings against the Rockies on Thursday, Gibson gave up five hits, five runs, four earned with three walks, five strikeouts and one home run. He threw 75 pitches.
