HCPL offering apple farm tour

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Public Library is offering a unique perspective of the county with its upcoming Behind the Scenes Hancock series.

Attendees will be able to tour local businesses. The first destination is Tuttle Orchards, scheduled for 1:45 p.m. Oct. 1.

A guided tour of apple production areas will include cold storage, grader, cider-making facilities and 30 minutes of walking in indoor areas. Learn about apple growing and what happens after the apples are picked.

The adults-only series provides an opportunity to see the inner workings of local organizations without the need to sign up to chaperone a school group. Meet at the business; the library does not provide transportation. The orchard is located at 5717 N. 300W., Greenfield.

Registration is required for the limited-capacity tour at hcplibrary.org or call 317-462-5141 ext. 240. Those who register but cannot attend should cancel their reservation so those on the waiting list may attend.
