With Greenfield-Central’s boys tennis team’s victory over Triton Central Wednesday, head coach Michael Turpin picked up his 200th career victory.

Turpin’s Cougars defeated the Tigers 4-1 at Greenfield-Central High School.

The Cougars are 7-2 this season.

Greenfield-Central plays host to Mt. Vernon Tuesday.

Girls Volleyball

Dragon spikers are 11-0

New Palestine’s girls volleyball team continued its streak of wins to start the 2024 season with a 3-0 victory at Warren Central Thursday.

With set wins of 25-11, 25-5, 25-17, the Dragons improved to 11-0 on the season.

Hayden Ramsey had 15 kills. Azure Flagle recorded 10 digs. Josie Corbett added seven kills and seven digs. Setter Sam Gooding dished out 30 assists. Natalie Sevier chipped in nine digs and Caylee Brown had four kills.

The Dragons travel to Hancock County and Hoosier Heritage Conference rival Greenfield-Central Thursday.

Girls soccer

Cougars lose to Pendleton Heights

Pendleton Heights scored on a first-half penalty kick and added another goal in the second half to defeat Greenfield-Central 2-0 in a Hoosier Heritage Conference girls soccer match at Pendleton Heights Wednesday.

With the loss, the Cougars dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the HHC. The Arabians are 2-3-1 and 2-0.

G-C is back in action Wednesday at Delta.
