Wrestling Theology presents ‘Heroes’
FORTVILLE — The wrestling ring is full of ‘Heroes’ as Wrestling Theology Fellowship returns to Fortville.
‘Heroes’ is a pro-wrestling-style event set for Sept. 14 at Mercy Road Church Northeast, 611 Vitality Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m. with bell at 6.

Fountaintown church offers festival
FOUNTAINTOWN — The Fountain plans a free Fall Festival from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 14.
It will feature a Dan’s Fish Fry meal, ice cream, bingo, Dessert Dash, bumper ball, a Foam Happy party, yard games, bounce house/obstacle course, an air brush artist, a kindness coloring page and raffles. A 3 on 3 basketball tournament is also planned.
Local non-profit Kindness Delivered is partnering with the church on this event.
Between now and the festival, the church is gathering new toy donations for God’s Open Arms Ministry and food for Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen. Both community partners will be respresented at the festival.

Restoration Conference continues
GREENFIELD — Restoration Conference began Friday and continues today (Aug. 31) at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 1202 E. Fifth St.
Juan Lopez, executive director of Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis, will speak at 11:30 a.m. A breakout session at 2:3o p.m. will focus on “Reaching Lost Generations.”
Lawrence Matthews, campus pastor of Calvary Christian School in Indianapolis, will speak in a youth service at 4:30 p.m.

Golf outing to aid Love INC
GREENFIELD — Axis Worship Center of New Palestine will sponsor a golf outing Sept. 20 to benefit Love INC.
It will take place at Arrowhead Golf Course, 3974 Clubhouse Drive. Check-in starts at 10 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11.
Cost is $60 per player, which includes 18 holes with cart and a Chick-fil-A meal.
Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Volunteers are needed for the event.

Harvest of Talents helps hunger relief
FORTVILLE — Browse a bazaar and raise money for hunger relief during Harvest of Talents, set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at Fortville Christian Church, 9450 N. County Road 200W.
A bazaar features furniture, woodworking, jewelry, Christmas decor, crafts and other items. There’s also a bake sale and a silent auction (bids in by 2 p.m.) including gift cards from local businesses. A used treasures market features gently used items.
A classic car show is expected to draw 100 vehicles. Registration is $20 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
There’s also food. Biscuits and gravy, fruit and homemade cinnamon rolls will be available for purchase from 9-10:30 a.m. A lunch featuring chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and green beans will be sold from 11:30 a.m. until it sells out.

Fortville churches plan Worship Night
FORTVILLE — Fortville Christians Unite plans a community night of worship from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 15 in Landmark Park, 201 E. Staat St.
Food trucks will be on site starting at 4 p.m. A time of praise and worship music, led by musicians from local churches, starts at 5. An after-party with bounce houses and games runs from 6-8 p.m.
FCU is a group of area churches who collaborate in ministry throughout the year, including donating items to and volunteering at Fortville Area Resource Mission (FARM).
Jazz concert coming to Greenfield Christian
GREENFIELD — Jazz for Jesus (and gospel too) is a concert set for 6-8 p.m. Sept. 8 at Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 23 N. East St.
Kenny Phelps of Kenny Phelps Productions and other accomplished musicians will play a free concert in the church’s sanctuary.
Refreshments will follow, along with a showing of artwork from the church’s Faith Formation art workshop, “Nearer to God Through Art.”

Group offers support for those grieving
MOHAWK — Griefshare offers support to those mourning the loss of a loved one. This free program will start meeting Sept. 11 and will meet from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 4 at Mohawk United Methodist Church.

Mt. Comfort plans fish fry
MT. COMFORT — Mt. Comfort Church’s annual fish fry runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 14.

A car show runs from 1-3 p.m. Registration is $20, or $5 for a non-judged entry, and can also be completed online on the church website.

Lord’s Acre Festival coming
McCORDSVILLE — The 73rd annual Lord’s Acre Festival is set for 4-8 p.m. Sept. 13 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sept. 14 at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.
The festival features a fish fry and also a includes vintage car show, vendor booths and live music. A chicken and noodles lunch that Saturday sells out each year.
For children, there’s face painting, bounce houses and the church playground. On Sept. 14, there’s also a Silly Safaris animal show and Touch a Truck with local first responders.
