Carol L. (Aldrich) Thomas, 84, of Wilkinson, passed away at her home Wednesday, August 7, 2024, following an extended illness. She was born February 14, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert T. and Hilda Mae (Anderson) Aldrich.

A graduate of Arsenal Tech High School, Carol worked at several places and then retired from Lawrence Township School System. She was a member of the Eastern Star in New Palestine, where she had served as Worthy Matron. She enjoyed thrifting, crafting, bowling, and watching “her stories”. She collected elephants and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Denise Tames of Wilkinson and Laura (Paul) Christian of New Palestine; grandchildren, Paul Christian II of Avon, Chris Maker Jr. of Anderson, Anthony Christian of Chicago, Jesseca (William) Copp of Cheyenne, WY; five great grandchildren, Sierra Nicole Maker of Indianapolis, Shawn Maxon and Chris H. Maker III, both of Sackets Harbor, NY, Ruby Christian and Sylvia Christian, both of Avon; sister, Janet Franklin of Greenfield; brother, Robert (Pat) Aldrich of Indianapolis; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Thomas Cox, and a son-in-law, Christopher Tames.

Carol’s family would like to thank all her hospice nurses and aides that helped her during her illness. The care they gave will never be forgotten.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel, Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery. The visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, 202 E.
