“Disasterville” coming to local meeting

GREENFIELD – Prepare for the worst with an interactive activity called “Disasterville.”

The training, skills refresher and educational tool will be at the Aug. 1 meeting of the Hancock County COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disasters). The community is welcome, as well as local officials, professional responders and emergency managers.

Disasterville is a table-top, game-like activity simulating a town set up with small buildings and figurines. The toolkit has markers to set up a disaster scene, including infrastructure damages, structure damages and victim conditions. Expect the activity to last about 90 minutes, starting at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at 640 S. Franklin St., Greenfield. Learn more at hancockcoad.org or facebook.com/HancockCountyCOAD.
