Chocolate walk returns to downtown Greenfield
GREENFIELD – A sweet tradition hosted by the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce returns this August.
The 2024 Chocolate Walk is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Aug. 9 in downtown Greenfield. Participants walk to local businesses and nonprofit organizations to sample gourmet or specialty chocolates.
The event sells out quickly; buy tickets at $20 at greenfieldcc.org. Sponsorship opportunities and vendor applications are still available.
Local center offers free meals with groceries
GREENFIELD – Enjoy a free meal prior to picking up free groceries at an upcoming community event.
Wellspring Center Food Pantry hosts Community Day this Wednesday, July 24. A lunch is from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield. The food pantry, located at the barn adjacent to the church, will have a drive-through grocery pickup from 12:30-2 p.m.

Tire recycle event Aug. 10
GREENFIELD – Recycle tires at a free upcoming event, hosted by Recycle Hancock County.
The tire disposal event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Riley Park Tire, 801 e. Main St., Greenfield.
Bring a maximum of 12 tires. Passenger/light truck and smaller tires are only accepted on or off the rim. No commercial agricultural or farm tires are permitted.

Foundation donations matched this year
GREENFIELD – The Community Foundation of Hancock County has a matching program now to where donations are grown.
Gift VIII has a $1 gift matched with $2 for a $3 total gift. The total raised as of June 30 is $410,066; the foundation has a $675,000 goal through the program made possible by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
Gifts will be matched now through Dec. 31. Community Development Funds, also known as unrestricted funds, allow the Community Foundation the discretion to make grants that meet the needs and opportunities as they evolve and change over time in Hancock County.
