McCordsville to host markets, car shows

MCCORDSVILLE – The town of McCordsville will host community events on Sundays this summer and fall.

Market in McCordsville and Cars & Coffee events are scheduled for June 9, July 14, Aug. 18, Sept. 15 and Oct. 6.

Cars and Coffee events are from 9-11 a.m. at McCordsville Town Hall Community Park, 6280 W. 800N.,McCordsville. The free community event accepts all vehicle makes, models and years. Parking is on the grass until the field is wet; free coffee and donuts are available.

The Market in McCordsville runs from noon to 3 p.m. on the same dates and also at Town Hall Community Park. Local crafters, artisans, farmers and home-based businesses are on site. Admission and parking are free.

Canvas painting animal fundraiser Sunday

GREENFIELD – Paint your pet in a fundraiser event for Partners in Animal Welfare Society.

P.A.W.S. is hosting Paint Your Pet from 5-7:30 p.m. June 2 at Wooden Bear Brewing Co., 21 W. North St., Greenfield. Cost is $45 and includes a pre-sketched canvas with your pet. Advanced tickets are required at pawshancock.org.

Birding group events open in June

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Birders are hosting community bird watching events at local parks in June.

The group, in collaboration with Greenfield Parks and Recreation and the National Audubon Society, will host events to gather and view birds at 8 a.m. June 8 at Beckenholdt Park and 8 a.m. June 22 at Brandywine Park. There will be two events to view birds each month now through October at Beckenholdt and Brandywine parks, and Thornwood Nature Preserve. Mobile blood drives coming up

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several mobile blood drives are coming up across Hancock County during the first weeks of June.

The city of Greenfield will host a mobile drive June 10 with a Bloodmobile at 10 S. State St., Greenfield. The Greenfield office of the Indiana Department of Transportation will host a drive June 13. The McCordsville Hancock County Wellness Center will host a drive June 12. The Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield will host a drive June 15.
