Book sale to benefit HCPL
GREENFIELD – The Friends of the Library book sale is open May 17-20.
The sale is at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield and raises money for concerts, children’s performers and special projects at the library.
Most hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents. Children’s books are 25-50 cents while DVDs, CDs and audiobooks are $1. The final day of the sale is clearance day, when paper grocery bags of items are sold for $3 and plastic for $2.
Those that wish to become a member of the Friends of the Library can join May 16 and shop at a members-only preview from 6-7:30 p.m. For more information, visit hcplibrary.org or call 317-462-5141.
Teen police academy applications open
GREENFIELD – Applications are being accepted now for this year’s Hancock County Teen Police Academy.
The free program is for students ages 14 to 17 and is hosted at Greenfield-Central High School. It runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10-14. Classes cover character development, defensive tactics, drug investigations, firearms training, drunken driving enforcement, traffic stops and more. Applications are submitted through the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, sheriffweb.hancockcoingov.org or the Greenfield Police Department, greenfieldin.org/government/police-department. Ballet class for all abilities coming up
GREENFIELD – The Arc of Hancock County is offering an adaptive ballet class for all ages and abilities.

Vendor market coming to fair this year
GREENFIELD — The Country Vintage Market is coming to the Hancock County 4-H Fair this year.
The market is hosted by the Hancock County Extension Homemakers and the HC 4-H Ag
