Osvaldo “Ozzie” Girolami, Jr., age 83, of New Palestine, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was born in London, England on July 23, 1940, to Osvaldo and Caterina (Toffolo) Girolami. Ozzie came over to the United States in 1956 when he was just 16 years old on the last voyage of Queen Mary. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1961. Osvaldo married his high school sweetheart, Jane (Hunter) on May 1, 1965, in Indianapolis.
He was a bricklayer for Union Local #4 in Indianapolis for 40 years before retiring in 2003. Ozzie enjoyed vacationing at the family house in Italy and riding his motorcycle. He loved fishing at the lake with his dog, Bella.
Ozzie is survived by his loving wife, Jane Girolami of New Palestine; daughter, Gina (Jim) Prigden of Greenfield; son, Greg (Lee Ann) Girolami of Fountaintown; and four grandchildren, Katlin and Sara Prigden, Natalie and Stephanie Girolami. He was preceded in death by his parents, Osvaldo Sr. and Caterina Girolami; and brother, Remo Girolami.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
