GREENFIELD – Local teachers were recently honored by their peers for their dedication to students and the Greenfield-Central community.

Greenfield-Central schools named a Teacher of the Year winner for each school building.

Dan Jack, director of human resources for the school corporation, said each building has a process to nominate and vote on their teacher of the year. Those winners were announced on the corporation’s social media pages in December.

Winners are: Kristen Lee-Oliver, Greenfield-Central High School; Nicole Gleason, Greenfield Central Junior High School; Kim Diehr, Maxwell Intermediate School; Renee Hilkene, Greenfield Intermediate School; Erica Gaskins, Eden Elementary School; Jamie Jacquemin, J.B. Stephens Elementary School; Mary Buckalew, Harris Elementary School; and Traci Gue, Weston Elementary School.

Next, these eight building teachers of the year will complete an application packet and a corporation committee will choose the winner to represent Greenfield-Central at the state level.

The overall winner of Greenfield-Central Teacher of the Year will be announced at the corporation’s back-to-school teacher meeting July 29, 2024.
