FOUNTAINTOWN
Robert Eugene Bainter, age 80, of Fountaintown, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis on November 18, 1943 to Raymond E. Bainter and Lucille M. (Maners) Bainter. Robert served in the Army National Guard. On June 12, 1965, he married Gloria (Bridgewater) in Greenfield.
He spent his working years at Chrysler and Allison Transmission. Robert was a member at Greenfield Wesleyan Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, song leader and bus driver. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. Robert loved talking to others and making people laugh.
He is survived by his daughters, Angie Muse (David) and Amy Jones (Dan); grandchildren, Olivia Muse, Elizabeth Rogian (Seth), Benjamin Muse, Brittany Hampp (Scott), Caleb Jones (Katie), Emily Keuhn (Cameron) and Ethan Jones; great-grandchildren, Maximus Hampp, Addison Hampp, Jedidiah Jones, Titus Hampp, Gracelyn Hampp, Elijah Jones, Boaz Jones and Odessa Rogian; brothers, Raymond Bainter and Jerry Bainter; and his sister, Betty Miller. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille; and his wife, Gloria Bainter.
Services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Park Cemetery.
