Carroll Kaster, 93, passed away at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis, on December 3, 2023. Carroll and his twin sister, Carolyn, were born in Indianapolis, IN on September 13, 1930, to Roberta E. Kaster and Ralph Zell.

After high school, Carroll served in the U.S. Navy for four years. After the Navy, Carroll married Doris Mae Kaster and to that union, they welcomed three daughters. Carroll worked as an Operating Engineer for Union Local 103. Carroll and Doris raised their daughters in a loving and caring home. After a battle with liver disease, Doris passed away. He later married Gwenn “Moore” Kaster.

Carroll was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed farming, feeding the birds and squirrels, reading his bible, his church, and spending time with his family when they came to visit. They were his greatest joy. He had a great sense of humor and was very funny. Carroll loved life and he especially loved the Lord with all his heart.

Carroll leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gwenn; daughters, Rebecca (Kurt) Radtke, Jolita (Jim) Wambsganss, and Sheila (Les) Denny; two brothers, David Vollrath and Chuk Vollrath; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; 5 stepchildren, Robin Shemwell, Chris McDonald, Rick (Karol) McDonald, Robert McDonald, and Cristal (Scott) Hignite.

He was preceded by his wife, Doris Kaster, twin sister, Carolyn Melton, granddaughter, Barbi Fitzgerald, and great-grandson, Ty Wambsganss.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203, Friday, December 8, 2023, at 12:00pm with the visitation at 10:00.
