GREENFIELD — After an anticipated wait, Republican Jeff Lowder and Republican Thomas J. Moore secured seats on Greenfield’s city council.

Republican Jeff Lowder and Democrat Carol Pearson competed for the District 4 seat, with Lowder receiving 463 votes or 71.67% and Pearson receiving 183 votes, 28.33%.

Lowder has been on Greenfield City Council for seven years now and plans to continue working with the other councilmen for the betterment of the community. Lowder also served as Center Township Trustee for four years.

“Looking to just keep working in the city and to keep things growing,” Lowder said.

Lowder also made the comment that he enjoys the “nice elections.”

“No matter if you have somebody against you or not, everybody is very congenial, and that means a lot to me,” Lowder said. “I not only represent the people that vote for me. I represent the people that didn’t vote for me.”

“Obviously, Greenfield is a wonderful place to live, and my goal is to keep it as great as it is and only to improve,” Moore said. “I can’t wait to start serving, and I look forward to January.”

Unopposed candidates for Greenfield City Council included Republican Anthony Scott, District 1; Republican Amy Kirkpatrick, District 2, Republican Joyce Plisinski, District 3; Republican John J. Jester at large; and Republican Daniel J. Riley at large.

Republican Lori Elmore was also unopposed for Greenfield’s clerk-treasurer for the municipal 2023 election.
