MCCORDSVILLE
John C. Fippen, 73, of McCordsville, passed away on September 25, 2023. He was born on August 28, 1950, in Noblesville, to George and Mae (Hiday) Fippen.
John was a Tool Maker for Ford Motor Company. He was currently serving as a Chairperson for Local 1111 UAW, a position he had held for 8 years. John loved his family and his life. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and mushroom hunting.
John is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathy (Moore) Fippen, whom he married on March 22, 1970. He is also survived by his children Shana (Ricardo) Sierra, John J. Fippen, and Kevin Woods; grandchildren Joshua Sierra, Jordan (Cody) St. John, Madison Fippen, and Bryce Fippen; great-grandchildren Kylee, Ryan, and Emily; and his siblings Phyllis Ingram and Glenn (Loretta) Fippen. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Jim Fippen, Dave Fippen, Delores Sewell, and Chuck Fippen.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday before the service, beginning at 12:00 pm. Those in attendance should treat the occasion as a celebration for John and casual attire is preferred especially wearing something in his favorite color, green. Please consider making donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. At John’s request a cremation will take place following the service.
