MCCORDSVILLE – The inaugural Party in the Park was a success in McCordsville, with crowds coming out to enjoy free festivities.

The Aug. 19 event included face painting, inflatable obstacle course and bounce castle, ax throwing, balloon twisting and an outdoor movie in the space behind Town Hall. Several food trucks ran out of items because it was so well attended, said Niki Jones, community outreach coordinator for McCordsville.

The party may be a returning tradition every year, she added, though town officials will have to reassess where it’s held due to its popularity and crowds.
