Social skills program coming up
GREENFIELD – An after school social skills development program is available for Hancock County children in grades 3-8.
Building Our Social Skills, or BOSS, is a program taught by certified staff from local schools through Families United for Support and Encouragement. Children learn about communication, being part of a group, expressing feelings, caring about themselves and others, listening, problem solving and more.
Classes begin Sept. 11 and registration is required by Sept. 1 to 317-462-9064, [email protected] or fuseinc.org. Cost is $240 per semester; $40 bi-weekly payments are available.
MVHS class reunion coming up
FORTVILLE – The Mt. Vernon High School Class of 1973 is planning a 50-year celebration.

Money workshop coming up at library
GREENFIELD – An event coming up is designed to help people create a budget, analyze spending habits and find ways to save money and live frugally.
Christa Cummings, client relationship representative for First Merchants Bank in New Palestine, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24 at the central branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. Bicycle event coming up
GREENFIELD – The Hancock Flat 50 is coming up Aug. 25-26.
The annual event featuring a bicycle ride and festival with music, food and drinks has attracted hundreds of cyclists from across the country since 2016.
The ride is Aug. 26 with festival activities in downtown Greenfield afterward. New this year is a kid/family two-mile ride on the trail to Brandywine Park and back, starting at 6 p.m. Aug. 25.
