ReadUP to have dining fundraiser

GREENFIELD – An organization that tutors children in reading will benefit from a dining event coming up.

ReadUP, a program of the United Way of Central Indiana, will benefit from a dine to donate event from 3-7 p.m. Aug. 18 at Leo’s Market and Eatery, 2212 W. Main St., Greenfield. Twenty percent of all Eatery proceeds will benefit the program, which brings in community volunteers to local schools to help children improve their reading skills.

Money workshop coming up at library

GREENFIELD – An event coming up is designed to help people create a budget, analyze spending habits and find ways to save money and live frugally.

Christa Cummings, client relationship representative for First Merchants Bank in New Palestine, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the central branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. Shrine Club to host meeting

Trivia event to benefit soup kitchen

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Elks will host a trivia night benefiting the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen this month.

The event is at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at 820 S. State St., Greenfield. Games start at 6 p.m.; cost is $10 per person to play, with $10 per team going to the pot. Winner takes all. Elks will be providing a meal and a cash bar is available. Reserve a table by emailing [email protected].

Kammy’s Kause coming up

FORTVILLE – The 19th annual Kammy’s Kause is coming up Aug. 26 at Landmark Park in Fortville. The fundraiser includes live music, a motorcycle ride, silent auction, vendors, kids zone and more. It’s free to attend the festival, which over 19 years has raised more than $550,000 for Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, or 4p. Visit kammyskause.org for more.
