Live music downtown Friday

GREENFIELD – Live music will be in downtown Greenfield this Friday at Depot Street Park.

Jeff & Sherrie are the opening act for 45 RPM, a group that showcases music from the 1960s. Music starts at 6 p.m. as part of the free Entertainment @ Depot Street Park Series; the park is located at 251 Depot St., Greenfield.

“Play On!” starts this weekend

GREENFIELD – The CrazyLake Acting Company will present “Play On!” June 23-July 2 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts.

The “play within a play” is about a theater group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of attempts from the playwright to continually revise the script.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. June 23, 24, 30 and July 1; and 2:30 p.m. July 2. The theater is located at 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. Advance tickets are $10 and are available online at crazylakeacting.com or at Hometown Comics and Games, 1040 N. Main St., Greenfield. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Summer Fest in New Pal this weekend

NEW PALESTINE – Summer Fest in New Palestine is this weekend, featuring live entertainment and fireworks.

At 6 p.m. Friday, June 23 is music by Nick & Friends, followed by Clayton Anderson. A new Jeep Cruise-In will take place Friday as well.

On Saturday, June 24 there’s the National Anthem performed by Brenna Bastin at 1 p.m., followed by the Wildheart Band at 2 p.m.; Reverie at 4 p.m; John Beatrice at 6 p.m. ; and Country Summer at 8 p.m. Fireworks by Burgerhaus Productions are at 10 p.m.

The Dragon Dash and Car Show are also Saturday, with the Dragon Dash at 9 a.m. and car show from 9 a.m. to noon; awards at 4 p.m.

More than 50 vendors will be on site starting at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. For more, visit newpalestinemainstreet.com.

Live entertainment coming to fair

GREENFIELD – Free entertainment abounds over the next week at the Hancock County Fair.

Stella Luna and the Satellites performs at 8 p.m. Friday, June 23.

Tim Coffey & Elkridge perform at 7 p.m. June 24; Nebo Ridge with opening act Zora Isabelle Coe is at 6:30 p.m. June 25; Divinity Trio, 7 p.m. June 26; Southern Distinction Band, 7 p.m. June 27; Cumberland Gap, 7 p.m. June 28; Willow Branch Band 7 p.m. June 29; and Hearts Ablaze dancers at 7 p.m. June 30. The fair also features several magic shows and animal demonstration shows throughout the week and a parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 24.

The fair is at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St., Greenfield; parking and admission is free.
