Plant program coming up
GREENFIELD – The public is invited to an upcoming plant program hosted by Hancock County Extension Homemakers.
Plant Propagation with Marnie Tupling will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. July 12 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds 4-H building. The program will include how to start plants including shrubs, perennials, root divisions, seeds, grafting and more. Each participant will leave with a plant to take home; hands-on demonstrations and a question-and-answer time will be included in the program.
Tupling is a seasonal color manager at Wasson Nursery with 15 years of experience in the green industry and a degree in landscape horticulture and design from Purdue University. New Palestine prepares for SummerFest
NEW PALESTINE – SummerFest in New Palestine will be June 23-24 at 11 E. Main St.

Drone certification class coming up
GREENFIELD – Those interested in becoming a commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle remote pilot might consider an upcoming course through Purdue Extension-Hancock County.
An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology Program will cover federal test preparation, flight instructions, camera settings, flight plans and record keeping, data management, troubleshooting and more. The UAV program will teach individuals legal requirements and how to obtain a Federal Aviation Administration Certification.
