Book, media donations accepted at library
GREENFIELD – Book, DVD, CD and video game donations will be accepted May 20 at the Hancock County Public LIbrary.
The Friends of the LIbrary, a nonprofit charitable group of volunteers who raise money through the sale of donated items, will accept donations of gently used items from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at the side delivery entrance of the library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. A volunteer will assist when someone rings the bell. A tax receipt may be requested.
Proceeds help fund concerts, children’s performers and special projects at the library.
Humane society to benefit from dining event
GREENFIELD – A dining fundraiser benefiting a local animal organization is coming up.
Culver’s will host a dine to donate event benefiting the Hancock County Humane Society from 5-8 p.m. May 22.
A portion of proceeds purchased during that time frame will go toward the animal rescue group; no flier is needed. The restaurant is located at 1846 N. State St., Greenfield.
Storytime registration opening soon
GREENFIELD – Families with young children can register for storytimes at local libraries.
The Hancock County Public LIbrary will open registration for storytime at 9 a.m. May 22 at hcplibrary.org. The six-week series begins the week of June 5. Times are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Greenfield and Wednesdays in New Palestine; classes are for children from birth to age 6.
