Love INC to host finance class

GREENFIELD – A free financial education series kicks off May 16 with sessions on paying off debt, money management and more.

Benefit golf event coming up

GREENFIELD – The third annual Ron Horning Memorial Golf Classic is coming up, with proceeds to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County.

The event is at 8 a.m. May 12 at Arrowhead Golf Course, 3974 Clubhouse Drive, Greenfield.

Horning was the former executive director of the Boys and Girls Clubs for more than 20 years and was also an avid golfer. The event benefits youth by helping support the club’s general operating fund and specific programming that help create opportunities for underserved youth in need. The event also supports the Ron Horning Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a student who attended the club and is seeking post-secondary education. Letter carriers to collect pantry donations May 13

GREENFIELD – Local letter carriers will be collecting nonperishable food and items to donate to area food pantries this Saturday, May 13.

The Stamp Out Hunger Donor Drive is a nation-wide movement to supply items to local communities. Hancock County residents can put their own bag of donations in the mailbox or on the ground near the mailbox. Donations are also accepted at the Greenfield Post Office.

Lions Club to fundraise through flower sales

GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Lions Club will host a Memorial Day flower sale weekends in May.

Flower cones, saddles, stands and hanging baskets will be available; prices vary according to size. All proceeds fund various Lions Club projects.

The events will be noon to 7 p.m. May 12-14; May 19-21; and May 26-29 in the Green Meadows Shopping Center parking lot, located at State Street and Green Meadows Drive in Greenfield.
