And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do you loose him? Thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

— Luke 19:29-31 (KJV)

There are situations and circumstances that you find yourself in that all you need is a word from God. In many situations in the Bible, God spoke and things began to happen.

God spoke through a donkey and through a burning bush. In thunder he uttered his voice. Adam and Eve heard the voice of God in the garden of Eden. God spoke and created the world in six days and then said it is good.

Not only does God speak but he also moves; he moves in situations, through circumstances, through pain, through disappointing moments, through sickness, through discouraging times.

In Ezekiel 16, God spoke of his people Jeruselm concerning their abominations and refers to them as an abandoned newborn baby: “In the day thy was born thy navel was not cut, neither was thy washed in water to supple thee; thou was not salted at all, nor swaddled at all. No eye pitied to do any of these unto thee; no compassion showed upon thee; thou was cast into an open field. In the day that thou was born you polluted in thy own blood, but, the Lord passed by and said Live!!!”

God speaks in your storms, rains, and when you feel like hope is gone. Even in the darkest time in your life God still speaks.God has the ability to speak from nothing that turns around everything!

In Luke 19, a colt was tied up. This colt represents a young untried person who has great ability but has not unlocked their greatest potential because it’s tied up.

We have so much that God has placed inside of us, but life at times causes us to tie up our potential. We tie it up because we may feel like we’re not good enough, or smart enough, or do not get enough support from friends and family to do it, or not enough money to get it done, but the Lord said, “I have need of you.”

Jesus gave the command to loose the colt; as he said loose the colt he is also saying to you loose your potential.

So, pull out those dreams, goals, visions and plans, and get back to doing what God called you to do because he has need of you. Philippians 4:13 reads, “I can do all things through Christ” that strengthens you so trust God, believe in God and let him untie your potential so you can live.
