GREENFIELD
Mary M. (Schnelle) Silvey, age 86, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at her home. She was born in Indianapolis on February 22, 1937 to Carl Schnelle and Ursela (Hill) Schnelle. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. In May of 1957, Mary wed Norman G. Silvey in Indianapolis.
She worked in various payroll and customer service roles throughout her career. Mary enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play baseball, football and soccer. She was a former member at St. Phillip, Little Flower and Holy Spirit Catholic Churches. Most recently, Mary was attending St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield. She was a devout Catholic and always put others before herself.
Mary is survived by her sons, Glenn (Claudia), David (Bev), Jim and John Silvey; daughter, Carolyn Muegge (David); grandchildren, Jeff, Greg, Michael, Eric, John and Madeleine Silvey; and great-grandchildren, Carter, Gabriel, Leo and Merritt Silvey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ursela; husband, Norman; and siblings, Buster, Robert, Ida and Judy.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
