Children’s theater to host auditions for new play

GREENFIELD – KidsPlay, Inc. children’s theater will host auditions for third- through eighth-grade students for the spring production of “Gravestone Manor.”

Auditions are 6-8:30 p.m. Jan. 17 for returning KidsPlay participants, and at the same time Jan. 19 for new auditioners. Auditions are in the Memorial Building, 98 E. North St., Greenfield.

The play is scheduled for April 21-23 and will include short comedic skits. Parts are available for up to 40 speaking roles and 12 dancers. New auditioners should come prepared with an audition monologue of one minute or less. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. For more, email [email protected].

Identity theft, scams program coming up

GREENFIELD – How to avoid identity theft and scams will be a topic of an upcoming event at the main branch of the Hancock County Public Library.

Christy Price and Christa Cummings of First Merchants Bank will be at the HCPL Jan. 12 to equip residents with the knowledge and skills needed to protect them from identity theft and fraud. Common types of scams, simple ways to avoid fraud, and steps to take if an identity is stolen will be discussed.

“Addams Family” auditions coming up

GREENFIELD – Auditions for “The Addams Family” musical comedy theater production are coming up Jan. 9-10.

The production, presented by Ricks-Weil Theatre Company and directed by Ted and Shari Jacobs, will be performed this March and April at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts.

Auditions will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9 and Jan. 10 at the downtown theater, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. Auditions are for ages 16 and older except for Pugsley; the role of Wednesday has already been cast. For more, email [email protected] or [email protected].
