William J. Wren, 79, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. William (Bill) was born May 27, 1943, in Delta, Colorado to Clyde H. and Ruby A. (Boyd) Wren.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra, whom he married March 3, 1984; their children: Teresa (Jim) White, Melanie (David) Brunner, Michael (Jennifer) Wren, Brent (Tiffany) Wren, brother Thomas (Donna) Nichols, sister, Patty Gauthreaux.

Grandchildren: Ben, Carrie, Brittainy, Nathan, Adam, Wyatt, Mia, Kyle, Beth, Lily, Sam, Levi, and several great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents listed above, brothers Lloyd and Clifford Wren and grandson Joseph Brunner.

He was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, Chrysler Corp. retiree as well as a surgical RN for 20 years. Bill enjoyed singing and playing music. He was a member of the Fortville Nazarene Church where he and his wife started the first Parish Nurse Program. He also loved leading song service for a small group in the Sunday night service. Bill loved family gatherings and vacations. He especially enjoyed playing cards with great grandson Merrick and watching him play soccer. He was an avid bowler and spent many afternoons fishing with his friends. He was a member of Madison Lodge #44 in Pendleton. Bill served his country in the United States Army and many years in the National Guard with the rank of Sgt. E 1st Class.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Fortville Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call at 1 PM. Funeral Service will be at 2 PM. Pastor Phil Edwards will be officiating.
