GREENFIELD — Looking for some family fun on the midway?
The Hancock County 4-H Fair features 22 rides and about a dozen games for little tykes and big kids alike. Ben Burton, who owns Shirley-based Burton Brothers Amusements along with brothers Bradd and Bryce, said he especially loves the Hancock County Fair because he can bring enjoyment to his local family, friends and neighbors.

If you’re looking for a crowd-pleaser, check out the Rock and Roll, which is probably the most popular attraction in the lineup. Riders are whisked in circles through hills and valleys in a swinging vehicle.
Yearn to soar? Try the Ferris wheel or the Ali Baba, a flying carpet ride. Tied for the tallest, both peak at about 55 feet.
Daredevils will want to check out the Power Surge, which Burton calls most intense. The high-spinning ride speeds the brave in all directions.
•The Dragon Wagon is a the biggest hit for the young riders. The kiddie coaster sends riders through hills around a track. You can ride with an adult if you’re between 36 and 42 inches tall; the maximum height for kiddie riders is 60 inches.
•A nostalgic family attraction for all ages is the carousel. Generations have adored riding on carved animals as they gallop in a circle, Burton said, and the all-ages attraction remains popular today.
Tickets are $1 each, and rides take from two to five tickets. Tickets can be purchased at $18 for 20 or $50 for 60. Wristband specials vary daily, with the best deals happening 9 p.m. to midnight each Friday night of the fair.
The time the carnival opens varies each day of the fair. Wednesday, it opens at 1 p.m., while Thursday and Friday the rides open at 5 p.m.
