LWV to hold series of documentary screenings on redistricting

GREENFIELD — The League of Women Voters of Hancock County is playing host to a series of virtual documentary film screenings to highlight issues surrounding the redistricting process, with the first taking place on Thursday, Jan. 28.

The documentary will highlight how gerrymandering affects democracy and explore the possibility of redistricting reform. Each will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A period. The first screening, beginning at 7:30 p.m., will feature the short documentary “Suppressed: The Fight to Vote,” directed by Robert Greenwald. Discussion will be moderated by Sarah Ferraro of the Calumet (Indiana) Area chapter of the League and Olisa Humes of the Columbus, Indiana, NAACP.
