GREENFIELD — Today (Oct. 22) is the last day to submit a request for a mail-in ballot to the Hancock County Election Office.

Ballot requests must be received by the election office, located at the Hancock County Courthouse, by 4 p.m. today. Request forms mailed today will miss the deadline. They can be returned in person; by emailing it to [email protected]; or by faxing it to 317-477-8683.

The application for an absentee ballot can be printed from indianavoters.com.

A completed ballot can be returned to the election office by mail or in person. County Clerk Lisa Lofgreen says voters choosing to return ballots by mail should do so no later than seven days before Election Day. A form is also available at the election office for voters who would like a family member or someone else to return their ballot in person for them.

All early votes, including those cast in person, will be sealed until Election Day.
