The 11th annual Chocolate Walk in downtown Greenfield was a little different than the previous 10 editions of the popular event, but visitors slipped their masks on and made the most of it.

About 275 people attended the Chocolate Walk, sponsored by the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce to showcase downtown businesses and celebrate the confectionary delight. Twenty vendors — each of which devised a creative way to share a chocolate snack with visitors — participated in the event. A number of them set up booths in the Living Alley or on the Courthouse Plaza.

The Chocolate Walk, which was held Friday, Aug. 14, was one of the first events on the leisure-time calendar to take place this summer amid a flurry of cancellations. Organizers worked with the county health department to devise protocols that included masks, lots of hand sanitizer and distancing.
