Boys soccer

Cougars edge Arabians

Greenfield-Central picked up a big Hoosier Heritage Conference win on Tuesday, outlasting Pendleton Heights in overtime, 1-0.

Caleb Mundell scored the only goal of the game just one minute into overtime. Abe Buescher had six saves in picking up his third shutout of the season.

The Cougars improved to 5-0-0 on the season. Their next match is Tuesday at Delta.

Girls soccer

Marauders roll to win

Mt. Vernon’s offense was rolling on Tuesday as they defeated Shelbyville, 9-0.

Katie Gawrys led the Marauders with two goals and two assists. Shay Shipley and Anna Isger each had two goals. Maddie Swingle, Natsuki baba and Riley Britt each added a goal. Riley Hurst had three assists and Rylie Pearson and Kaidlin Jeter each had an assist.

The Marauders improved to 5-2 on the season and play tonight at home against New Castle.

Dragons top Warren Central

New Palestine rallied from an early deficit to beat Warren Central, 8-2.

Maddy Miller had five assists for the Dragons to lead the attack.

Addie Halter, Abby Blachly and Anna Luker each scored two goals. Sydney Miller and Maddy Potter each had a goal. Haley Weinrich and Whitney Miller shared goalkeeping duties.

The Dragons (5-0-1) are next in action today at Yorktown.

Volleyball

Marauders top Brownsburg

Mt. Vernon improved to 9-0 on the year with a win Tuesday at Brownsburg, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Cecilia Bulmahn led the offense with 17 kills and Claire Ertel added 13. Victoria Bulmahn had 40 assists and four Marauders topped 10 digs.

Mt. Vernon is next in action today at Delta.

Dragons fall to Zionsville

New Palestine fell 25-13, 25-10, 25-15 on Tuesday at Zionsville.

Kaelyn Armstrong led the Dragons at the net with nine kills. Emily Adam had 16 assists. Grace Myers had 18 digs.

The Dragons host Greenfield-Central today.

Cougars dropped by Delta

Greenfield-Central was swept in three sets by Delta on Tuesday, 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Junior Ava Antic led the team with 10 kills on 29 attack attempts. The Cougars are next in action today at New Palestine.

Boys tennis

Royals top Hagerstown

Eastern Hancock improved to 3-1 on the year with a 3-2 win Tuesday against Hagerstown.

Kodey Huff won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Nolan Stout won 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 at No. 2 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Sammy Blocher and Bryce Wennen won 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).

Delta bests Cougars

Greenfield-Central took on the No. 24 Delta Eagles on Tuesday, falling 5-0.

The Cougars (2-5, 1-2) will play Morristown at home today.
