DNR to offer workshops at Indiana State Fair

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will offer several free educational workshops during the 17-day run of the State Fair.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Department of Natural Resources Fish & Wildlife division will offer several free educational presentations during the Indiana State Fair, Aug. 2-18. 

These programs will take place at the Natural Resources Building:

Aug. 3: Native Plants & Pollinators, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Bowfishing, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Aug. 4: Pond Management, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 10: The Bear in Your Backyard: Living with Indiana’s Carnivores, 2 to 3 p.m.

Aug. 11: Indiana Box Turtles, 10 a.m. to noon; Living with Wildlife, 2 to 4 p.m.

Aug. 16: Magnificent Macroinvertebrates, 2 to 4 p.m.

Aug. 17: Indiana Hellbenders, 10 a.m. to noon

The following workshops will be offered at the Pathway to Water Quality (located on the east side of the fairgrounds next to the Boy Scout Bridge):

Aug. 6: Aquatic Macroinvertebrates, noon to 1 p.m.

Aug. 10: Pond Management, 1 to 2 p.m.

Aug. 11: Living with Wildlife, noon to 1 p.m.

Aug. 14: Aquatic Invasive Species, 1 to 2 p.m.
