‘Dogfight’ plays second weekend

INDIANAPOLIS — It’s November 21, 1963. Three young marines set out for one final night of debauchery in San Francisco on the eve of their deployment overseas. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace (Nathan Wilusz) meets Rose (Addison Koehler), an awkward and idealistic waitress he enlists to win a cruel bet with his friends, she rewrites the rules of the game, and the two share a night they’ll never forget. Playing through June 17 at the Buck Creek Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Ave., “Dogfight,” studded with impressive songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (the songwriting team behind “La La Land” and “The Greatest Showman”) promises to be both poignant and funny.
