Harold “John” Eugene Burton, 86, Greenfield, passed away on October 1, 2021, at Independence Village in Fishers. He was born March 16, 1935, in Indianapolis, to James and Agnes (Delaney) Burton. He graduated from Cathedral High School. John honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He married his love, Mary Ann Hoagland on January 25, 1958.

John worked in computer processing for many years, retiring from Navistar in 2000, after 25 dedicated years. John loved his family and always had a way of expressing such love to all, especially his grandchildren’s spouses. He was a long-time member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield.

John is survived by his loving children: Debbie Matthews (Larry Logan), James Burton, John Burton, Joy (Gary) Blagburn, and Steven (Kristin) Burton; grandchildren: Erika (Ben) Nuthack, Katrina Matthews, Austin Matthews, Nathan (Lauren) Burton, Zachary Burton, Anthony Burton, Amanda (Nicholas) Jefferis, Brittany Blagburn, Darren Blagburn, and Spencer Burton; and great-grandchildren: Ella Jefferis, Jade Jefferis, and Luca Burton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ann Burton of 62 1/2 years who passed one year ago; and sisters: Betty and Aggie.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating.
