Breakfast with Santa, downtown events planned
GREENFIELD – Tickets are available now for the Ho Ho Ho Holiday Breakfast Dec. 7, hosted by Greenfield Main street.
The annual tradition takes place Dec. 7 at Bradley Hall Event Center in downtown Greenfield. Three time slots are available and tickets are $20 to have a buffet meal with Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus and enjoy holiday arts and crafts. Visit facebook.com/GreenfieldMainStreet for the link for tickets.
The organization also recently announced “Skating on Main” — ice skating on the downtown courthouse plaza from Dec. 6 to Jan. 1. The Boho Holiday Artisan Market is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at Bradley Hall. Band community night, fundraiser coming up
GREENFIELD – Support Greenfield-Central’s Band and Guard program in a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Dine in or carry out and 10% of proceeds will go toward the band. The fundraiser is from 5-9 p.m. Nov. 13.
The Greenfield-Central High School marching band and guard qualified for the state finals competition. Their competitive performance will be at 3:05 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 9 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
However, the group will host a free community performance the night before. The community show is at 7:30 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 8 at the Hancock Health Stadium at G-CHS, 810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield.
Holiday brunch class coming up
GREENFIELD – Learn how to make homemade pancakes, savory sausage gravy and a farmer’s breakfast casserole in an upcoming event. The Hancock County Extension Homemakers will present a heritage cooking class at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Samples and light refreshments will be provided. Seating is limited; register at hcplibrary.org.
Weed wrangle, educational event coming up
GREENFIELD – Volunteer to eradicate invasive species in an upcoming weed wrangle event, or learn about plant species in an educational event.
The Hancock County CISMA Invasive Species Management is seeking volunteers for a weed wrangle. Help remove invasive species from 9:30 to noon Nov. 16 at Beckenholdt Park, 2770 N. Franklin St., Greenfield. Meet in the parking lot of the park and wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Some loppers and gloves are provided, or bring your own. Snacks and drinks are also provided. The group will also host an educational event called ‘The Basics of Natives and Invasives.” The event is at 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at Purdue Extension Hancock County, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield.
